Now that you're connected to a malicious network, the attacker can potentially obtain private info. I think the real issue with not broadcasting your SSID is that someone can spoof your network when you're on the road, by the simple fact that you're broadcasting the name of the network you're trying to connect to. Still, it seems, that making your network less attractive than the networks around you is still better security than not using the additional features at all.
